The story begins over 30 years ago when The Nambucca River Tourist Park (NRTP) opened its doors to weary travellers looking for a restful place to stay in a peaceful and beautiful location. Despite the Nambucca Valley being a fabulous destination for travellers seeking a relaxing, get- away- from- it- all holiday, our location then ( as it is now) was a convenient half way point between Sydney and Brisbane.
Originally a dairy farm serving the Nambucca Valley, the 28 acres of land was transformed into a tourist “resort” with onsite vans and caravan and camping sites in 1981 and it has been creating holiday memories for generations of kids and mums and dads ever since.
Today, the Park is family owned and operated by Janelle and Gary Kitchin and Lisa and Geoff Harvey. Since taking on the Park in July 2003 it has always been and still remains a labour of love for the four of them. The journey began from very humble beginnings – there was a huge bag of dreams and aspirations coupled with a fearless approach to hard work. Their hands on approach in the operation and management of all aspects of the business has become a way of life. For the Kitchins and Harveys family is paramount – the support received from their families has contributed greatly to their success and is truly appreciated; it enables them to continue to focus clearly on their goals for the business. The drive and plan has been about rejuvenating and redeveloping the business, establishing ongoing connections with those wonderful guests who keep on coming back as well as focusing on building strong and lasting relationships with those who are visiting the park for the very first time.
Providing high quality affordable accommodation and facilities, superior customer value and satisfaction and a relaxed secure environment are always at the top of the list. This creates lasting memorable experiences for each and every guest to treasure. We are appreciative and very motivated by those guests who come and stay again and again. We work hard to ensure we continue to receive outstanding positive feedback. It inspires us to strive even more to enrich the experience for each guest.
Our motto is “Discover Us, Love us!”
We are proud to say we are the Nambucca Valley’s only 4 star riverside caravan park and we continue to strive to be the jewel in our region’s crown. Offering excellent value across a range of accommodation including self contained cabins, luxury villas, powered and unpowered caravan and camping sites you will find something to suit your budget and needs. The Park really does have something for everyone.
The facilities are either new or newly upgraded including an exciting resort style swimming pool with various enhancements such as water mushrooms, shade sails, water spout etc, and an exceptionally spacious, well-appointed stainless steel camp kitchen with outdoor yet undercover tables and seating and free gas BBQs overlooking the pool area. These are only some of the many quality facilities catering for all ages and interests. The Nambucca Valley’s only golf driving range is to be found at the Park. The kids (big and small) are always impressed with the genuinely giant Jumping Pillow. Boating and fishing enthusiasts appreciate the easy access of the boat ramp, fishing jetty and floating pontoon. Plus there’s the conveniently located giant outdoor chess, spa, a fully equipped entertainment room and our latest innovations – a 9 hole Putt-Putt golf course and carpet bowls.
A new chapter in the story is our most recent acquisition – Nambucca River Kayaks – kayak hire is open to the public 7 days a week (weather permitting) as well as available to our guests. With easy access to the river, an hour or two kayaking makes an enjoyable adventure that provides a good yarn to tell when you return home.
We are pet friendly on our caravan and camping sites all year round. View our pet policy online. A variety of additional services are on offer to ensure once you’ve discovered us you will love us. The Park is perfectly located in an uncrowded and unspoilt landscape. Everyone, from well-travelled ‘Grey Nomads’ to young families with parents remembering their own caravanning and camping experiences as kids, discover us to find the ultimate playground to relax, recharge and rediscover.
We look forward to welcoming you soon.
