The story begins over 30 years ago back in the early 1980’s when The Nambucca River Tourist Park (NRTP) first opened its doors to weary travellers looking for a restful place to stay in a peaceful and beautiful location. Despite the Nambucca Valley being a fabulous destination for travellers and holiday makers seeking a relaxing, get away from it all holiday, our location then (as it is now) was also a convenient half way point between Sydney and Brisbane.
Originally a dairy farm serving the Nambucca Valley, the transformation of this 28 acres of land into a tourist ‘resort’ began in 1979, with the park opening its doors in 1981 with onsite vans and caravan and camping sites. It has been creating great holiday memories for generations of families and travellers from all over the world ever since.
Over the years since the park first opened there have been several owners, all of whom have left their mark and have strived to continuously improve the park and its facilities, with the focus being on providing a family friendly environment for the guests of the park. Some of these improvements have included the introduction of 4 star Villas; a jumping pillow; putt putt golf; a golf driving range; and state of the art camp kitchen.
October 2014 saw Nambucca Villages Pty Ltd take over the ownership of the Park from the Harvey’s & Kitchin’s who had owned and operated the park for 10 years. Nambucca Villages Pty Ltd are committed to continuing the family friendly focus of the park while also continuing to further develop the park. We are also committed to continuing NRTP’s tradition of providing high quality affordable accommodation and facilities, superior customer service, and a relaxed and secure environment for all our guests to enjoy.
Our motto is “Discover Us, Love us!”, and we are proud to say that we are the Nambucca Valley’s only 4 star riverside caravan and tourist park. The park offers excellent value across a range of accommodation including self-contained cabins, luxury villas, powered and unpowered caravan and camping sites. There is literally something for everyone.
NRTP has a range of great facilities for both the comfort and enjoyment of our many guests no matter what age you are. These include our resort style swimming pool with various enhancements such as water mushrooms, shade sails, water spout and fountain; our sauna and spa; and an exceptionally spacious and well-appointed stainless steel camp kitchen with free gas BBQ’s and undercover tables and seating. For golf enthusiasts we also have the Nambucca Valley’s only Golf Driving Range. The kids (big and small) are always impressed with our giant Jumping Pillow as well as our Putt Putt Golf Course and our Pedal Bikes. Plus there’s Outdoor Chess, Carpet Bowls, Basketball, and a Games Room. Being right beside the beautiful Nambucca River boating and fishing enthusiasts appreciate the easy access of the boat ramp, fishing jetty and floating pontoon. Plus, we also have Kayaks for hire so you can spend time exploring the river.
An added bonus is that the park is Pet Friendly all year round for those on our caravan and camping sites. Unfortunately, No Pets are allowed in our cabin and villa accommodation.
While NRTP has primarily been tourist oriented and this is set to continue, a part of it has also been devoted to being a lifestyle village for the over 55s, The Nambucca River Village. Our current residents feel their village is a ‘slice of paradise’. Nambucca Villages Pty Ltd has plans to expand the lifestyle village facet of the park to enable more of the Over 55s brigade to take advantage of this beautiful and peaceful location and great affordable lifestyle living near the unspoilt Nambucca River.
Nambucca Villages Pty Ltd and its Resident Managers look forward to welcoming you soon to the Nambucca River Tourist Park.
