Newcastle Caravan and Camping Show and Holiday Expo 2012

With loads of interest in the Nambucca Valley this was a great show for NRTP. The weather was extremely kind and almost 25,000 visitors rushed through the gates over the 3 days. The kids loved the balloons and the lollipops. The mums and dads loved the opportunity to discover some new accommodation options. It was interesting to talk to those who were counting down to R-Day (retirement) and planning to spend much of their time caravanning or camping around Australia. The Show provided the opportunity for many to discover us - the hidden gem of the Nambucca Valley. Feedback was sweet and always welcome and everyone who came to the stand had many happy memories of the Nambucca area or were keen to discover us. So thank you to everyone who came and said hello. We hope to see you up this way very soon.

NRTP achieves Bronze Gumnut Award

Nambucca River Tourist Park has been recognised for commitment to sustainable business by the Caravan and Camping Industry Association of NSW (CCIA) at their annual Awards of Excellence Gala Dinner held 27th July. Nambucca River Tourist Park has achieved a Bronze Gumnut Award which means the park has undergone the first steps to identifying ways in which the business can develop better practices to become more environmentally sustainable. “The Gumnut Awards foster socially responsible management so that everyone – the park, community and environment – are winners,” Mr Baillie said. The CCIA developed the Gumnut Awards in 2002 to increase the importance of protecting the environment for the future of caravan and camping tourism. “A Bronze Gumnut Award involves parks attending a Gumnut Award workshop and then developing a submission which details ways in which the park plans to achieve specific environmental goals.”
